The Halton Outdoor Club is a not-for-profit year round club whose activities include cycling from May through October. We currently offer a trail riding program although we are open to other forms of cycling if there is sufficient interest from our members. Club volunteers lead rides on Saturdays and Sundays as well as some weekdays, usually on rail trails in Hamilton, Niagara, Brantford or Caledon. Additionally a regular weekly Friday night ride takes place on the trails in North Oakville. Overnight and extended trips, both farther afield in Ontario and internationally, are normally part of the event schedule.
We have about 100 enthusiastic cyclists who enjoy non competitive rides and meeting other friendly, supportive people with similar interests. We recognize that riding with others is more enjoyable and safer than riding alone. Most club rides include a lunch break & a stop at a coffee shop or ice cream parlour along our way.
Founded in 1973, Halton Outdoor Club also offers hiking and paddling programs in the warmer months and cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter and the annual membership fee covers all five sports. Lessons are available for cross country skiing and kayaking. Potential members are welcome to participate in two club events before joining.
